District Rotary Foundation Chair

District 5110 has a unique approach to Global Grants. Instead of having a few members make the funding decisions, you are the committee. You make all those decisions.

This Saturday, July 9 is your opportunity to be heard.

Even if you’re not that interested in world projects, we have a speaker you will want to hear:

FEATURED SPEAKER

Dr. Kasia Bednarek-Rajewska, the Rotary Club of Poznan Poland. Dr. Kasia will join us via Zoom to share stories of her humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Learn how Rotarian’s are helping the people of Ukraine and what Rotarian’s around the world can still do to support the Ukrainian efforts.

Dr Kasia was a Rotary exchange student who, they tell me, did not want to go home. Poland at the time was having a lot of difficulties. She was encouraged to go back home and make a difference. She went back to Poland and got her medical degree and has been making a huge difference in Rotary ever since.

Here is the agenda:

2022-23 DISTRICT GRANTS UPDATE

By meeting time, D5110 will know how much DDF (District Designated Funds) will be available to fund district grants for the new Rotary year. As of 1 July, clubs have requested $156,800 in DDF  for a total value of $283,820 in local and international projects.

GLOBAL GRANTS FOR DDF APPROVAL

If your club is going to request DDF for a global grant, the pre-application is due now to Chair Juli Di Chiro. Email: julidichiro@gmail.com

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION

Facilitators will lead small discussion groups on ways to re-engage in global grants now that we are “post COVID”. How can the District Grants Team help your club initiate new global grant projects?” Let’s identify what you need to recharge our global grants engagement around the world.” Please come.

So join us live in Cottage Grove. Share breakfast, lunch and fellowship with your fellow Rotarian’s. We don’t have a lot of opportunities for us all to get together and this is a good one. Did I mention it is free?
