Rotary Business Network salutes Rotarian Ulrich Lau and his family-owned company, Oregon Overseas Timber as this week’s Business of the Week. Ulrich is Past President of Port Orford Rotary Club, a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and Sustaining Member of The Rotary Foundation. He is an engaged, inspirational and exceptional Rotary leader.
Launched in 1984, Oregon Overseas Timber initially re-manufactured Douglas Fir for the European market at an old hangar next to the Bandon State Airport. Since then, the company has expanded on 24 acres, adding various sawmills, sorting chains, a chopping building, as well as dry kilns. Oregon Overseas Timber utilizes salvage logs from the forest floor, renewing a renewable resource. It achieves high end “clears,” heavily used in the Pacific North and Southwest, today producing over 30 products which are hand-selected and quality controlled to maintain a consistent output. Check it out on the Rotary Business Network.
Every D5110 Rotarian with a business or profession is entitled to a listing in the Rotary Business Network directory. If your business is not listed, click here and add it! For details, visit the Rotary Business Network or contact Rotarian Dan Smith if you have questions.
It’s no surprise! So many wonderful businesses are supporting the work of Rotary in District 5110. In 1905, Paul Harris launched Rotary to leverage friendships and build ethical business relationships. He knew doing this would strengthen businesses as well as communities. The Rotary business Network aims to do likewise.
