The last in-person RYLA was in 2019 – we’re thrilled to be returning to Grove Camp in Dorena, OR, for traditional RYLA. Buses will pick up campers the morning of June 18. Click here for the bus schedule. They will meet an enthusiastic team of facilitators, counselors and Rotarians that afternoon. Campers will immediately connect with other high-performing young leaders and begin an immersive and meaningful shared experience . Our goal at RYLA is to equip the next generation of leaders with self-awareness, communication and collaborative problem-solving skills, and a service mindset. They are, most agree, the future of Rotary, our communities, and the world.
District 5110 will again partner with True North Consulting and its outstanding team of seasoned facilitators, led by Jeff DeFranco, Brad Lund, and Paul Griffith. Our counseling staff this year is new, diverse, and excited to lead – included are three highly experienced RYLA staffers from Texas and Oklahoma, all affiliated with LeaderNU, the organization that brought us a successful e-RYLA in 2021.
It’s a challenging time, and we are grateful to the Rotarians and Rotary clubs that chose to sponsor RYLA campers this year. We commit to delivering a high-quality program that will interest and engage young leaders. This year, my personal focus will be on creating a safe, inclusive environment that enhances and nourishes young souls. My theme: Be the reason someone feels welcomed, seen, heard, valued, and supported. Rotarians are welcome to visit camp – contact Mary Hoskins, District RYLA Chair and 2022 Camp Director, prior to June 16th at marhos1968@gmail.com.
