Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Mike O’Neil. He died at home on Tuesday of a sudden heart attack. Mike joined the Greater Bend Rotary in 2001 and served as club president for the 2013-14 Rotary year. He served for many years as the chair of our club’s Rotary Foundation committee and helped organize our World Community Service projects. Mike served as a treasured mentor to club members over the years. He retired this spring from Solaire Homebuilders, the company he and his wife Cindi founded in 1995. I spoke with Cindi, a past District Governor, this morning. The family is still firming up plans for a memorial service, potentially on July 22. Cindi requests that in lieu of flowers, folks can contribute to the Annual Fund of The Rotary Foundation. Please let me know if you make a donation in honor of Mike so I can share that information with Cindi. I will share more information as it becomes available.

Yours in Rotary service,

Brian Stallcop
President 2023-24
Rotary Club of Greater Bend
