Local Rotary Efforts Assisting Those Hardshipped in Ukraine

A Rotary Exchange Student from Poland who is now a doctor and her Rotary club are asking for medical assistance so they can better help the thousands of Ukrainians still in Ukraine and those that coming into their community.

March 15, 2022 — In addition to ShelterBox and RI’s Disaster Relief Fund, here is another way to assist the refugees from Ukraine — directly to the Rotary Club of Poznan, Poland.

A Rotary Exchange Student from Poland who is now a doctor and her Rotary club are asking for medical assistance so they can better help the thousands of Ukrainians still in Ukraine and those that coming into their community. The Poznan club is now getting the needed medical equipment into the hands of Doctors in Lviv, Ukraine. If that region looks like it will be overrun, it will be transferred back to Poland and used there. She has stayed in close contact with her exchange “parents”, Steve and Nancy Swearingen, members of the Grants Pass Rotary Club, who visited there in 2019.

If you would like to know where your donation is going and how it will be used please consider helping our clubs in Grant Pass assist the Poznan Rotary in Poland. Please make the checks out to the Grants Pass Rotary Foundation, put in the I.D. line “Ukraine relief” and send them to Grants Pass Rotary Club, PO Box 1201, Grants Pass, Oregon 97528.

AND THE BEAR CREEK VALLEY club in Medford is reporting that one of their exchange students from twenty years ago, Katarina, her husband, her kids and friends are driving to the border or the train station and picking up people and getting them to shelters. Her family has taken in 11 refugees themselves. They live just outside the capital of Slovakia. If you are interested in sending money, please wire it through PayPal.  https://paypal.me/janurbancik. This is Katarina’s husband’s account. Please note that it is a donation for the refugees, so they won’t have tax implications.

There is so much need in the world right now, please keep these people in your heart and pass this on to others. Peace.
