Makindu Children’s Program Presented to Eugene Metro March 15

You are all welcome to join us this Tuesday, March 15th at 6 pm Pacific to see how kids get to be kids when their basic needs are met

March 15, 2022 — Mr. Kampona was a beggar who lived in a tree. More than twenty years ago he was giving the money he raised to Madona, a 10-year-old orphan girl to go buy food. Madona would bring the food to an elderly woman who cooked for hundreds of hungry homeless kids in eastern Kenya.

“If these three can help, so can I,” Winnie Barron thought after learning about this trio of Good Samaritans. With extensive community guidance and collaboration, she founded the Makindu Children’s Program in 1998.

You are all welcome to join us this Tuesday, March 15th at 6 pm Pacific to see how kids get to be kids when their basic needs are met; when education paves the path to their future.  We look forward to seeing your beautiful Rotarian faces online or in person. Bring a friend and your favorite beverage!
