I walked into the year’s first meeting on Monday, October 6th. TWENTY new students were there! The board members took turns giving a everyone a brief orientation about Rotaract.
During introductions, I learned the students were interested in meeting like-minded people and serving the community. They heard about different kinds of projects they could work on together, then broke into groups to brainstorm their collective passions.
They were also interested in finding mentors – someone to have coffee/lunch with periodically. Sponsoring club, Eugene Rotary, finds members with common interests with each student to fill this role.
The group decided to use MS Teams to stay in touch with each other. What energy! What fun!!!
