For 34 years, the Rotary Club of Redmond has volunteered at the Deschutes County Fair to raise funds for service projects and scholarships.  Following a year’s absence due to COVID, the club was at it again, devoting 1,299 hours and 70-plus volunteers worked more than 150 shifts in the effort.  While most were Rotarians, others were Rotary scholarship recipients, school district employees, Kiwanis Club helpers, and community friends and partners.

Rotary Captains “stepped up to the plate”, providing 390 of the total hours and Rotarians devoted more than 900 hours.  Rotarian Keever Henry coordinated the volunteer effort and Rotary Captains managed shifts, tasks, cash boxes, set up and more at all the fair gates.

The best part, says Redmond President Tyler Nokes, was the “fun.”  Click here for a video that will make you agree!.  Even Ms. Oregon approved!
