THE POWER OF ROTARY

The students had so much fun meeting each other! The two board of directors decided to meet again on a weekend day to share project ideas and learn more about Interact around the world.

Three months ago, the Southern CA Interact Clubs started a pen pal initiative with several districts across the United States.  South Eugene High School (SEHS) Interact students decided to join.  The incoming Interact Co-president of SEHS developed a strong relationship with his pen pal – a young lady from India. He invited her to one of our Interact meetings (via zoom) so we had the pleasure of meeting her, albeit it 3:00 am in the morning for her.

The students had so much fun meeting each other! The two board of directors decided to meet again on a weekend day to share project ideas and learn more about Interact around the world.

One program that SEHS students have accomplished in the last year was their online tutoring program to help out with the challenges of learning on line in a pandemic. The students from India loved the tutoring idea so much they took it to their school district for approval (big process) and it was just approved! So, now, the SEHS tutoring program is active in three countries – India, Canada and the United States! The beauty for me was to watch the students witness the Power of Rotary.
