Friends! Our last speaker of 2022 will be presenting at the Rotary Club of Eugene Metropolitan on Tuesday evening, December 13th at 6 pm Pacific¬†and you are all invited for a world-renowned guest we’ve been looking forward to.

Chandran Nair is the founder and CEO of the Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT), a Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur-based think tank. They focus on global issues, “including the shift of economic and political influence from the West to Asia, the dynamic relationship between business and society, and the reshaping of the rules of global capitalism.”

Mr. Nair’s career is as expansive as it is impressive. He is an economic development advisor to the governments of Hong Kong and Taiwan.¬†He has served as Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. He is a Member of the Executive Committee of The Club of Rome and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

He is also the creator of The Other Hundred, a non-profit photojournalism project featuring not the global elites but “real people and their struggles, triumphs, hopes and dreams.”

He is the author of Consumptionomics: Asia’s Role in Reshaping Capitalism and Saving the Planet, as well as The Sustainable State: The Future of Government, Economy, and Society. His latest book Dismantling Global White Privilege: Equity for a Post-Western World was released this January.

We are delighted to host Mr. Nair “in” Oregon to learn about the international impact of his research and his passion. All are welcome to join us for an incredible end to a year full of Rotary inspiration.
