District Governor's Message

Inspire & Motivate
Info graphic showing the organization of Rotary District 5110. Branches include: Membership, public image, foundation, administration, international service, training, events, and youth services.

It’s a thrill and an honor to serve as the District 5110 Governor for the 2025–2026 Rotary year.

We stretch across the southern two-thirds of Oregon and dip into Northern California—nearly 60,000 square miles of stunning landscapes and dedicated Rotarians. With 60 clubs, 4 Rotaract clubs, and 20 Interact clubs, we are nearly 2,700 members strong.

A Tree Takes Root

Take a moment to study the image included on this page: The Tree of Rotary District 5110 Success. It’s more than a diagram—it’s a metaphor for how we grow.

The District Governor is the trunk, grounded and steady, providing the support, nourishment, and information that enables the tree to grow.

  • The branches are our district committees and leadership teams, reaching outward with purpose.
  • And the leaves? They are our vibrant clubs and members—bringing energy, beauty, and life to the tree.
  • Just like a tree needs all its parts to thrive, Rotary grows when we each do our part. The healthier the roots and trunk, the more support the branches give—and the more the leaves can catch the sunlight and flourish.

Support. Inspire. Celebrate.

This year, our District leadership focus is clear:

  • Support – We’ll bring district resources and leadership closer to you—right where you are.
  • Inspire – When you hit turbulence, we’ll help you find the lift and rise above it.
  • Celebrate – We’ll highlight and cheer on the powerful work you’re already doing in your communities.

Let’s Soar Together

We’ll keep climbing by:

  • Offering Rotary Leadership Institute and Foundation events in local hubs
  • Supporting bold ideas and club growth in all its forms
  • Shining a light on success through shout-outs and storytelling
  • Launching our 3-year rolling strategic plan to guide our future

Rotary’s vision—to create lasting change in ourselves, our communities, and the world—is more than words. It’s our lift. And together, we’re catching it.

Thank you for everything you do. I believe in you. I see you. And I’m here to help you grow, thrive, and soar.

We haven’t peaked yet.

Yours in Rotary Service and Spirit,
Christine Waugh
Governor, Rotary District 5110

Leadership Team

The District leadership team comprises district governors and committee chairs. Its goals are to strengthen existing District 5110 Rotary clubs by helping to organize new clubs, promote membership, and expand Rotary International programs and The Rotary Foundation.

District leaders provide regular communication, coordinate activities, encourage participation in club-sponsored projects and programming, and provide training and development for all District 5110 Clubs.
