Last week our club came together to pack our annual food boxes for local area youth. Our students receive 2 warm meals a day when at school, and during the long holiday breaks from school some struggle to obtain those same meals.
We pack kid friendly easy to prepare food boxes for 100 local youth. Our club does this alongside local Interact students. Within approximately an hour we can have the 100 (50lb) potato boxes overflowing with food and hauled to a nearby trailer for dispersement.
It is a labor of love that our club has enjoyed being part of since 2019. In 2019 we were able to fill these same boxes for $50, and now with the rising cost of food it is well over $100 per box. Thankfully with our District Grant our club is able to help offset this rising cost to feed area youth in need.
