Wednesday morning, July 30th, I was up early to attend the Sunriver LaPine Club at Sunriver Lodge. The energy in this room made rising early a pleasure. This club has a good mix of younger Rotarians in its roster. They inducted a new member, Monique Vanden’Aklie, who owns Community Based Consulting and has expertise in writing grants.
Sunriver LaPine Club focuses on raising money for scholarships. Here’s a cool idea – they give out these business cards with the QR code printed on the back. This makes it easy to promote their fundraiser and spread the opportunity to everyone they meet. (It worked for me.)
Visiting the club this morning was Beverly Christy, PDG from Utah, whose husband, Ed, is a member of this club. They split their time between the two states and have clubs in each location.
I facilitated a brainstorming discussion on how the club could hold smaller, more frequent fundraisers, and possibly collaborate with other clubs in the Bend area.
