Michael Angelo Caruso is a lifelong Rotarian in the Troy Michigan Club. He has delivered over 2000 presentations and Keynote
speeches on six continents and in 49 states. He is a valued communication consultant to companies and organizations all over the world. He is internationally recognized as an expert on subjects of leadership, selling, and customer service.

“CLEARING THE AIR ON VACCINES”

Dr. Pilar Bradshaw, MD is a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians. She began her medical practice in Eugene in 1999 and practices the full spectrum of pediatric medicine, seeing patients from birth to young adulthood. At the University of Oregon, Pilar graduated summa cum laude as the female valedictorian with a double major in chemistry and music. In addition to her medical training, she is also an accomplished violinist. For more than 27 seasons, she performed with the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra, playing a violin made by her great grandfather. She is a founding member of the non-profit classical chamber music group, Chamber Music Amici.

Frank resides in Springfield, Oregon but is often traveling the world with his message

“RECRUITING AND CREATING YOUR TEAM”

The University of Oregon head coaches have shown the nation how to bring together individuals, all being the best athletes in their fields, to form united teams that perform at the highest level. One of those coaches, Kelly Graves, women’s basketball head coach, will be our keynote speaker at the Saturday lunch event.

Jennifer Jones is the first woman to serve as Rotary International President in 2022-2023. She is currently the Chair-elect for the Rotary Foundation. She will share her story and her passion for the work of the Foundation at our Saturday evening banquet.

Sylvia Whitlock made history in 1987 when she became the first woman president of a Rotary Club, shortly after the groundbreaking decision by the Supreme Court that mandated women be allowed to join Rotary. Sylvia’s legacy is one of courage, persistence, and progress. By stepping into leadership at a pivotal moment, she not only changed Rotary’s history but also opened the door for generations of women to lead, serve, and make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

“POSITIVE PEACE: MORE THAN YOU THINK”

A fourth generation Oregonian, Al Jubitz attended Beaverton High School, graduated from Yale University (BS) in 1966 and received his MBA from the University of Oregon in 1968. His 34-year business career spanned numerous assignments with Jubitz Corporation in Portland, Oregon, including growing the DAT Services Division for 23 years prior to its sale in 2001. Later that year he established the Jubitz Family Foundation.

As President and founder of the Jubitz Family Foundation, Al oversees its grantmaking and partnerships with organizations that foster peacebuilding and environmental stewardship. The Foundation’s main program, the War Prevention Initiative, is active in publishing peer-reviewed academic research through the Peace Science Digest which it founded in 2014.

An avid third generation Rotarian, Al co-founded the Rotary Action Group for Peace in 2012 and continues to inspire Rotary International on various peacebuilding initiatives.

Al and his wife Nancy have three daughters and five grandchildren. Enjoying retirement, Al plays squash and golf. Al believes the world must give up on war for survival and moral reasons, among others.

REFLECTIONS ON ROTARY AND “DOING GOOD IN THE WORLD

Wyn Spiller, Rotary International Director representing Rotary International Zones 26 and 27 and her husband Steve share a deep commitment to our Rotary Foundation and its humanitarian work, with a special interest in the Rotary Peace Centers, peace-building programs and polio eradication. They are fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience a National Immunization trip to India and humanitarian projects in Uganda and Mexico, each one life changing. They are Major Donors as well as members of Triple Crown, Paul Harris, PolioPlus and Bequest Societies. Wyn is a member of the Rotary Club of Grass Valley CA. since 1994, and has held multiple club, district, and zone positions.
