I walked into an energetic din at 6:45 am on Friday morning, September 12th, at Taprock. Several Rotarians, including President Tammie Schmidt, greeted me at the door. Because of a scheduling conflict I had, the club offered to rearrange its program for this day so I could visit and speak with their members. Members could fill out a ticket with their choice of breakfast, and it was served to them when it was ready.
After club business, President Tammie (on the left) asked me to present several awards to active club members (Joanie LeRoux, Dan Converse, Laura Smithwick, and Marla Kasdorf.)
I don’t give a traditional “DG Speech.” Instead, I have a conversation with members about their interests and concerns.
We talked about fundraising and membership, but they were really interested in what goes on behind the scenes at the District.
This club is a tight-knit group of friends. After the meeting ended, many members lingered to talk about club plans, activities, or just visit.
