Our pumpkin carving event is a fun evening planned over Zoom (3pm 25th October EST) where Rotary members are invited to join the globally-spread Rotaractors of No Borders for a halloween themed fundraiser. Each of us will have carved a jack-o-lantern using a design that has something to do with our home country, so we’ll go round and explain our design and introduce ourself, and then Rotary members are invited to vote on their favourite pumpkin using a paypal link (they can determine how much, but $10 would be nice, if able – any currency, just a ballpark).

We’ll go round and share some personal spooky stories or haunting myths from our cultures as people vote, and then we’ll announce the winner! It would be great to hear about some of the club projects of the Rotarians who join, too. This is the first inter-group event ever for many of these new Rotaractors and I’m hoping it will be a lot of good spooky fun and a nice laid back hour of inter-group socialising for everyone who joins us.

The funds raised will be used to provide each new No Borders member with their own Rotaract t-shirt in whichever country they’re from! The shirt design is being drawn by our Vice Prez’s little sister and we’ve found a good printing company. They won’t be expensive, but the exchange rates are disproportionately uneven for members in countries that would also have to shoulder higher shipping costs. Because of this, I didn’t want to ask members to fund their own shirts, and thought fundraising for it would be simplest, would allow an opportunity for the group to meet Rotary members, and create an enjoyable time for all.

Here is the zoom link to the event. I’ll send this out to all closer to the time too, but feel free to pass this along too 🙂
