Looking for a Program?

The Newport club has developed a self-contained 20-minute MICROPLASTIC program for your club. The format includes a flyer, 6-minute video, followed by a short discussion period allowing your club to TAKE ACTION. A “cheat sheet” is provided to help guide the program structure for your meeting!

Guy Faust, Rotary Club of Newport

MICROPLASTIC isn’t a coastal problem, it’s an EVERYWHERE problem. Did you know plastics are inside you right now? It’s in the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe.

Want to learn about the hazards of microplastic and discover what Newport is doing EVERYDAY this summer to alleviate plastic debris? Most importantly, do you want to know how your Club can help contribute to this effort? “Protecting the Environment” is Rotary International’s latest call to action. It’s time we give Mother Nature the attention she deserves and give your Club a new way to participate in helping save our environment.

Finally, have you ever had a last-minute program presenter drop out and need to scramble to fill-in a program? Our program is self-contained. If you can print out some flyers, play a video, and follow some cheat-sheet instructions…you’re good to go. Our program is both informative and instructive and leads to ACTION.

Dave and I are excited that you and this project will be part of the District Conference in May. We are looking forward to participating in Newport sometime this summer to reduce microplastics. Also some ideas about what those of us who are inland and along rivers could do to help prevent plastics from getting to the ocean would be great. Thanks!
