Eugene Metro envisions the future

Twenty-one members of the Rotary Club of Eugene Metro gathered on Saturday morning, April 22nd, moving through a process to define the future vision of their club.  Hosted by Beth Sheehan and the Eugene Mission, the District 5110 Vision team guided participants in a consensus-building effort to define future goals in all areas of Rotary Service.

The event is the first step of a Strategic Planning Process to establish continuity and consistency in all phases of club activity.   The next step will occur when Club President Steve Hitch schedules a club assembly to present the results from the Visioning event to the entire membership.  Thereafter, an assembled team from the club will identify measurable action steps attached to each agreed-upon vision goal.

The strategic process is intended to provide clubs with a path toward more flexibility as they adapt to change, a more focused impact of their work, an enhanced effort to ensure participant engagement, and a consensus on the vision necessary to expand the reach of Rotary.  As Vision team member Jane Falls commented: “Clubs that have demonstrated a commitment to this strategic planning process are clubs that thrive and grow.”  District 5110 clubs interested in scheduling the Visioning Team should contact Committee Chair Mark Johnson:  [email protected]

  1. Great Job Team Metro! I had the privilege to observe the club at work. Looking forward to Eugene Delta Club doing the same in the near future.
