On behalf of Rotary District 5110, I am pleased to announce that Bruce Reece of the Rotary Club of Illinois Valley (Cave Junction) has been selected as the District Governor Nominee Designate – he will serve as DG for the 2028–2029 Rotary year.
A Rotarian since 2015, Bruce brings both deep Rotary experience and a lifetime of leadership in education to this new role. He currently serves as District Executive Assistant Governor and District Interact Committee Chair, following three years as Assistant Governor. At the club level, Bruce has served as President (2020–2021 and 2025–present), Treasurer, and Youth Programs Contact, where his dedication helped re-charter the Illinois Valley High School Interact Club in 2024.
Bruce’s Rotary journey is grounded in service and learning. He is a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute, a Paul Harris Fellow +1, and a Sustaining Member of The Rotary Foundation since 2017. His club earned the Rotary International Presidential Citation during in his first term as president.
Beyond Rotary, Bruce brings over 40 years of experience in education, including teaching English and personal finance, coordinating online programs, and coaching football, basketball, baseball, and golf.
With his steady leadership, deep roots in community service, and enthusiasm for youth programs, Bruce is well-equipped to help District 5110 continue to “Find the Lift” in the years ahead.
