Don’t Let META Take Down Your Club Facebook Page

It happened to one of our District 5110 club Facebook pages, and it can happen to yours. Once your page has been taken down by META it is almost impossible to get it back and in most cases the club will have to create a new page and start over.

Yikes!

META (Facebook) has been shutting down many of Rotary Facebook pages for what they term copyright violations regarding the Rotary International trademarks. After discussing this with Andy Sternberg of RI, we have become aware of the need to register your club Facebook URL at Rotary International to get your site on the approved list and avoid a take down from META.

The link to add your club’s Facebook address with Rotary International is: https://on.rotary.org/fbissue

Please follow the link and complete the easy registration of your club Facebook Page as soon as possible to maintain your account status. Failure to complete this step will leave your Facebook page open to being shutdown by META with the only option being to create a new page from scratch which will result in your club losing all of your posting history.

Thank you for such important information. I just registered my club’s Facebook and Instagram accounts using the link above. It took five seconds and hopefully will keep our pages official!

I just learned of a second club in our District that had this happen! Waste no time in registering your Facebook page with RI!
