District 5110 Foundation Committee Update – July 2025

🎉 Kicking Off the New Rotary Year with Impact & Inspiration!

Our district hit the ground running this summer with an energetic and inspiring Grants Meeting—and what a way to start the Rotary year!

One of the standout moments?

A powerful presentation from the Rotary Club of Corvallis, highlighting their global grant supporting Ukrainian veterans. This incredible project provides veterans with new career paths by training Ukrainian educators in online course development—right here at Oregon State University! Hats off to President Ken and the Corvallis team for your bold vision and unwavering commitment.

🛠️ But that’s not all—we’re thrilled to share that $83,000 in District Designated Funds (DDF) was approved to support three amazing projects this year:

đź’§ Clean water solutions in Guanajuato, Mexico

📚 A “School of the Streets” empowering youth in Guatemala

đź’‰ HPV detection, treatment, and prevention in Uganda

What’s even more exciting?

Two of these projects were led by first-time global grant writers! Big shoutout to our Global Grant Chair Juli, whose support helped guide these Rotarians through the process. It’s proof that with the right encouragement, more clubs can step up and create lasting global change.

👏 Congratulations to the Rotary Clubs of Eugene, Ashland Lithia Springs, and Jacksonville-Applegate for leading the charge with heart and purpose!

đź“… Mark Your Calendar! OCTOBER 4, 2025

We’ll be back together again October 4th for the Fall Grant Meeting with more grants to approve — WE WILL BE IN PERSON—followed by the always-fabulous “Denim and Diamonds” Million Dollar Gala, Foundation Dinner at the Eugene Downtown Athletic Club . Don’t miss it! As an added bonus at the gala, we will have the future DG nominees give speeches during the dinner.
