On The Fly with DG Chris – Gold Beach Club

The Gold Beach Club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and Anna received recognition from Rotary International, with Assistant Governor Mike Hewitt looking on.

Wednesday, the 13th, was meeting day for the Gold Beach Club. President Anna Marie Curtis arrived early, and set up the Rotary essentials – badges, banners, and screen. Her goal as President, she told me, is to “actively engage family and youth to build leaders in the club.” The club’s favorite fundraiser is High on Health, from which they raise $15,000 each year for health-related projects in Gold Beach. Other projects include Party in the Park, Bike the Rogue, The Triathlon, Rotary Sports, and their ongoing support of various local non-profits.

Mdm. President asked me to help recognize many Gold Beach members who always step up – (from left) Karlie Wright, Anna Marie Curtis, Becky Atherton, Bryan Grummond, Mary Stansell, Jerry Gerke, Dr. John Rush, and Gerry Herbage.

In preparation for the 75th Anniversary celebration, Anna has developed a stunning marketing campaign and slide show (here’s one slide) as part of her goal to “show how a single marketing effort can raise funds, build our brand, increase membership, and celebrate our work—without the need for a large, resource-heavy fundraiser.”
