You can receive a 3-day pass to Newport’s Seafood & Wine Festival AND earn $50 for your Club!
The Rotary Club of Newport organizes the Green Team for Newport’s Seafood & Wine Festival taking place February 19-22, 2026. Because the Environment is Rotary International’s 7th area of focus, our club has taken on this service project and small fundraiser.
To fill all 65 shifts, we need more than just our Club’s help to divert waste from the landfill and so we put this out to local service organizations and Rotary District 5110.
Rotary will send a check to the organization/club you list (when you sign up) for the shift(s) worked.
Here are the waste statistics from last year, 2025:
780 pounds of Mixed Compostables
9,180 pounds of Glass Recycling
2,280 pounds of Cardboard Recycling
22 Bottledrop bags of beverage containers all donated to NHS Grad Night
5,800 pounds of trash
That translates to almost 70% of the waste being recycled!
Volunteer (must be 21+) for the Newport Chamber of Commerce 2026 Seafood and Wine Festival Green Team. Here are the highlights of volunteering:
– Earn money for Rotary or specify your non-profit organization ($50 per shift),
– Receive a complimentary 3-day weekend pass to the Festival ($80+ value), and
– Revel in the gratifying satisfaction of composting and recycling with the Green Team (and maybe even educating some festival goers!)
– This year’s Bottledrop beverage redemption will be going to local organization, Samaritan House.
