“CLEARING THE AIR ON VACCINES”
Dr. Pilar Bradshaw, MD is a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians. She began her medical practice in Eugene in 1999 and practices the full spectrum of pediatric medicine, seeing patients from birth to young adulthood. At the University of Oregon, Pilar graduated summa cum laude as the female valedictorian with a double major in chemistry and music. In addition to her medical training, she is also an accomplished violinist. For more than 27 seasons, she performed with the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra, playing a violin made by her great grandfather. “THE MENTAL HEALTH COMEDIAN”
Frank King blends his experience as a 13-time T-Talker on Mental Health, a clean, clever stand-up comedian, and as a warrior in his own lifelong battle with depression and thoughts of suicide, for content-packed and eminently listenable keynote presentations and workshops. Frank resides in Springfield, Oregon but is often traveling the world with his message
“You can make a difference, you can save a life, and often you can do it by starting a conversation.”
SATURDAY MAY 16 LUNCH
“RECRUITING AND CREATING YOUR TEAM”
The University of Oregon head coaches have shown the nation how to bring together individuals, all being the best athletes in their fields, to form united teams that perform at the highest level. One of those coaches (still a surprise) will be our keynote speaker at the Saturday lunch event.
SATURDAY MAY 16 DINNER
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION: “TODAY’S SEED IS TOMORROW’S TREE”
Wyn Spiller, Rotary International Director representing Rotary International Zones 26 and 27 and her husband Steve share a deep commitment to our Rotary Foundation and its humanitarian work, with a special interest in the Rotary Peace Centers, peace-building programs and polio eradication. They are fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience a National Immunization trip to India and humanitarian projects in Uganda and Mexico, each one life changing. They are Major Donors as well as members of Triple Crown, Paul Harris, PolioPlus and Bequest Societies. Wyn is a member of the Rotary Club of Grass Valley CA. since 1994, and has held multiple club, district, and zone positions.
SUNDAY MAY 17 BREAKFAST
“POSITIVE PEACE: MORE THAN YOU THINK”
Al Jubitz is a lifelong advocate for peace, environmental stewardship, and community service. A native Oregonian, he attended Yale University and the University of Oregon School of Business before joining his family’s business, Jubitz Corporation. A third-generation Rotarian, Al joined the Rotary Club of Portland in 1977 and served as president from 2002-2003. Recognizing Rotary’s potential to promote nonviolent conflict resolution, he co-founded and funds the Rotarian Action Group for Peace, now with members in 71 countries. Through this initiative, he has helped engage Rotarians in peace projects, conflict resolution training, and global peacebuilding efforts. Al will be joined by Marcus Nobel, great-great grandson of Alfred Nobel.
