Leadership growth doesn’t happen by accident — it happens when you step away from the day-to-day and give yourself space to think, learn, and connect. The District Conference is designed to be exactly that kind of space — practical, energizing, and immediately useful when you return to your club and community.
What You Will Take Away
Each Rotarian at DisCon 26 will have opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, and bring home fresh perspectives. These keynote speakers are just the beginning:
- We all know how challenging it can be to herd cats on a big project. Michael Angelo Caruso will share ideas to “Get People to Get Stuff Done” at the Friday evening dinner.
- Rotary’s commitment to ending polio extends to understanding vaccines. Dr. Pilar Bradshaw, MD will “Demystify Vaccines” at Saturday morning’s breakfast, followed by another healthy dose of insight from Frank King, the Mental Health Comedian.
- And what would a conference in Eugene be without a University of Oregon coach? (Sorry, Beaver fans.) Our coach will talk about recruiting members and building a team that works together effectively.
- Peace and conflict resolution begin within each of us. Al Jubitz, co-founder of the Rotary Action Group for Peace, will explore how we can move closer to the peace we seek.
- Finally, our Zone 26/27 representative, Wyn Spiller, will share the importance of The Rotary Foundation for leveraging our resources, with ideas you can bring back to your club.
Beyond the stage, you’ll gain practical tools, fresh perspective on familiar challenges, renewed confidence, and meaningful connections.
Leadership development is one of the most lasting benefits of coming together as a district — and the insights you gain will ripple outward long after the conference ends.
