I visited the Medford Club on Tuesday, April 14th, at noon at the Rogue Valley Country Club. The lunch was an excellent taco bar, complete with soup, salad, and dessert. They say lunch isn’t cheap there, but it’s sure good!
President Marc Bayliss asked me to present two awards – first to Dr Doug Smith, who has provided continuing support projects in Russia.
The next award recipient was Mike Pastryk for chairing the Community Crab Crack. I attended that event this year – and it was amazing! They grossed $46,000, the proceeds supporting CASA and ACCESS.
Other projects supported by Medford Club include the Dolly Parton Imagination Library ($62K), PowerPacks that provide weekend nutrition for grade school students, and a $50K project in Malawi to provide medical vocational training plus medicines.
Although they have 7 new members, they wanted to talk about recruiting more. So I facilitated their discussion of ideas for attraction new Rotarians.
As usual, I asked the members to send their greetings to the rest of the District. Go visit this club – you’ll enjoy it!

Special thanks to DG Chris for being so uplifting and positive for all of us. I did float a trial balloon during our forum that DG Chris skillfully moderated. And that was to look into the idea of sponsoring a satellite club that is bi-lingual (Spanish/English).
Does anyone know of any other clubs in our district or region that have done this successfully.
