One day with one focus.  Every club.  Every Rotarian.  Sunday, October 24 is World Polio Day and there is still time to plan an event in your community to raise awareness and/or funds to eradicate this terrible disease.  There is even a “tool kit” to help you with your planning on the Rotary website: (www.endpolio.org)  No idea is too funky or outrageous…as a matter of fact, sometimes the more outrageous, the better.  Simple ideas work great, too.  Organize a “Walk for Polio” or “Cycle for Polio” or “Hike for Polio” event in the community.  Host an End Polio event in your home or local coffee shop.  Any of these can be an avenue for raising funds, but more importantly, you will be raising awareness that eradicating the Poliovirus is a priority with Rotarians. There will be a live stream World Polio Day program on October 24th that you can watch live and it will be recorded for later viewing.  It’s our legacy.  We’re so close to ending this awful virus – let’s get it done.
