I visited Eugene Delta Club on Friday, January 16th. They meet at the Pacific Crest Council of Scouting America. You probably know that I like to take selfie-videos of the clubs to share them with you. Well, I’m not very good at talking while I take them – I cut off the first half of this one.
Club President Mary Reilly asked Past District Governor Claudette McWilliams and met to present two Paul Harris awards – keeping the importance of Rotary’s ability to leverage its impact front and center. Then, she invited President-Elect Kerry Oliver to the lectern. In addition to being one of the four other awards I presented to club members, Kerry has been a stellar Membership Chair and serves on multiple committees.
A very social club, Delta members often attend Duck games together.
Sometimes clubs host the same fundraiser every year, although many agree it’s getting tired and losing momentum. Well, Delta members are very excited about their new fundraiser: “Black Tie Bingo” – it is gearing up to be an annual fundraising gala at the Shedd in Eugene, to be known for fun, celebrity callers (like local news anchors), cash prizes, raffles, and supporting youth programs in Lane County.
